History: As in Riverview I. There are tunnels beneath the buildings, but are in more than one segment, so they do not all connect with one another…
Team: Jester, Pixie, and Ghost
Mission Brief: Having been shut out of the tunnels for so long, we’d been watching it constantly for an opportunity to get back in. Pixie, Ghost, and I made an attempt to get back in during the night. Avoiding the security patrol on it’s several swings by, we get all the way to the building, which was empty earlier, we see a bunch of cars parked there now !
Realizing it’s studio crews, we very unhappily made our way back out of the grounds. Just as we get to to the car, we see vehicle after vehicle driving out… So we take a quick spin past the building, and sure enough, no cars there anymore. We all decide we can make one more try, and head back onto the grounds, shadow to shadow. Along the way, we have to avoid the security again, and he slows down quite a bit, possibly having noticed Ghost as we dove for cover. Now, the exciting part…
We get to the building again, and going along in front, I spot the security car coming. Here’s the moment of truth for my plan to become one with the terrain in this event… We *hide* in plain sight… But the car doesn’t come ? So I move out for a better look, and then see it start coming again (we figured he must have taken a better look where he may have spotted Ghost earlier). So I sprint around up for the front entrance… Ghost sees the car coming and alerts Pixie, so they both get back to *hiding*… Now if you look at the pics of the building, you will see, There is NO place to hide… The car comes on along, within 20 feet of Ghost (Ghost thinking to himself, “this can’t work, we’re sooo busted”) and Pixie (wondering how Jester is faring as he takes off) yet they are not discovered… I make it to the grand staircase, with probably no more than a second to spare. Any longer and I would have been right between his headlights… He continues his rounds… and we make for our entrance point. All to discover, there are workmen in the building ! I moved in alone and got into some shadows, sitting patiently, listening. I heard the faint shuffle of feet on the dusty floor and knew we should abort…
Next day, we make another attempt, in the daylight… Successfully gaining access, and just damn determined, we avoid the workers in the building, and made our way down to the tunnels. Very cool, and familiar to people who’ve seen the movie “Romeo must Die” (among others), they have been filmed in quite a bit. Though it appeared, from maps, that the tunnels would connect to the rest of Riverview, they did not, so that was a disappointment. The only building they connected to was the Cafeteria building behind Crease. Still, we explored them as thoroughly as we could. Lots of asbestos threats (not gonna crawl into the pipe shafts here, thats for sure) which we were extra careful around.
Now we have the rest of Riverview to work on… it’s a big job, but somebody has to do it…
